The number of historical matters being prosecuted has increased as complainants feel more comfortable about coming forward. Rape crisis workers have already reported an increase in complaints after the setting up of the ‘Royal Commission to investigate Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse’. It is anticipated that this will flow thought to a significant increase in prosecutions.
